Working From Home

Being a work at home mum is an amazing privilege, our very own Kerry does this and as she is a social media guru she is able to work effectively, it doesn’t matter if the TV is on in the background or if her son is laughing as no one can hear her through the computer. She also works in the evenings and that works really well for her.
HOWEVER; the rest of the team are virtual assistants and we are all in full agreement that being a VA/full time mum just does not work.
We all have our own ways to get around this, live in nannies, childminders and very willing grandparents are all a great asset. We want to is to break the misconception that a good VA can do this job whilst bouncing a baby on the other knee. This is a serious role, and something we are equally good and passionate about.

In a typical day we could be:
On the phone – we need peace and quiet
Working with accounts – concentration essential
Event planning / administration – Please don’t touch the toppling piles of paperwork

To be as good as we are, you really need to have a dedicated workspace, (preferably with a no children sign.)
We had a break in today, and the culprit was a streaker. No this wasn’t a bizarre episode of Prison Break, it was a two year old who really really wanted to help!

Good thing it was out of working hours!
